
Uzochukwu Amakom
Research Fellow
Uzochukwu holds a PhD in Economics from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria, with a strong background in Applied Statistics. He is currently teaching Economics in the same university. His area of interests and specialization include poverty, public finance and firm level analyses, income distribution and gender issues. He has published a number of works on both national and international journals on the above issues and has participated in dozens of workshops, trainings and conferences both within and outside Nigeria. He is currently a Fellow of the International Working Group on Gender, Macroeconomics and International Economics Salt Lake City, Utah, USA as well as a member of International Development Economic Associates [IDEAs] New Delhi, India and Economic Modeling Group Brussels, Belgium. Uzochukwu has consulted for the United States Agency for International Development [USAID], United Kingdom Department for International Development [DFID], Associates for International Resources and Development [AIRD], Cambridge, USA, IBM Consulting Arlington, USA, ActionAid, WaterAid, European Union as well as United Nations Industrial Development Organization [UNIDO]. He is fully involved in many evidence-based and policy-related researches at the institute where he is a Research Fellow.
