2008 Associate Fellows Retreat

The Institue held its Annual Retreat for Associate Fellows. The retreat is an opportunity for Associate Fellows to to reflect on experiences in the preceding year and ponder on the challenges and imperatives in the coming year. This year, the retreat was centered on the theme of Teamwork, Leadership and Competition and took place on the 12th of Januray, 2008 at Bridgewaters Luxury Suites, Enugu.

Attendance at the occasion was impressive with close to a hundred participants. The audience was made up of Associate Fellows of the Institute, who came from all over the country, invited guests and other stakeholders of the Institute.

The event kicked off with a welcome address and presentation by the Executive Director on Accelerating our Momentum in which he spoke on the relationship between the trident of Leadership, Teamwork and Competition, and the roles they play in achieving the goals of the Institute. Shortly after Mr. Nduka Buno of the West African Institute for Financial and Economic Management, Lagos gave the lead presentation.

There was a special address by the Governor of the Central Bank, Professor Charles Soludo. He treated participants to some insights on the vision and mission of AIAE and the role of Associate Fellows. Also present at the ocassion was the recently appointed Senior Special Adviser to the Vice President, Dr. Ifediora Amobi, an associate fellow of the Institute.

It was not all work as there was a live band that entertained with music and rendered the Institute's anthem. There was also a dramatic monologue.
